A Life’s Passion
At a young age Bob Bender experienced what would more than three decades later change the course of his life. While traveling across Europe with his brother and a group of friends, Bob sampled a vivid array of wines and spirits, igniting his life’s passion.
As the years passed Bob was able to travel more often, his horizons continuing to broaden right along with an ever growing appreciation for the culture of wine. Though mired in corporate America throughout the week, always in the back of Bob’s mind was the dream of creating a comfortable atmosphere where wine enthusiasts could get together to share their passion.
Heritage Wine Company
In the fall of 2008 Bob was finally able to realize his lifelong dream. Leaving a multinational company behind, and together with his beautiful wife Sheri, the Benders purchased Old Town Pasadena’s Heritage Wine Company.
Future Plans
Feeling truly lucky that he’s been able to turn his passion into his life’s work, Bob plans to integrate his wine company into the fabric of the local community as thoroughly as possible. From daily self-guided wine tours and flight tastings to vintner’s forums and focus tastings, Bob plans to offer the most complete wine selecting experience in the Greater Pasadena area.
By capturing the spirit of a charming wine bar where the locals and those visiting the area can intermingle to learn about and enjoy the culture of wine in all of its resplendent beauty, Bob wants nothing more than to give back to the community all that they have given to him.
